An undercover U.S. agent in California adopts the persona of the "Masked Stranger" to protect wealthy Spanish families from corrupt land-thieves. When a ruthless land-grabber named Owens assassinates landowner Don Carlos for his gold-rich estate, Carlos’s sister, Rosa, blames the masked agent for the tragedy.
